AAaaawwww

So we were running a little behind and while I was getting Chloe ready to walk Paige out to wait for the bus - the bus came. I grabbed Paige's hand and ran out the door, leaving Chloe behind as she did not have any shoes or coat on. I waived goodbye to Paige and walked back in to Chloe, patting her little chest and in a sad tone saying "Mommy left me". aaawwwwww!!

Zach & Sarah

This is my niece and nephew. Generally, one likes to have their picture taken and the other doesn't. Don't even get me started on trying to get these siblings together for a shot during the last few family get togethers. Today was different. Both were great!

These were taken at an impromptu get together with my parents, Jenn (my sister), Don, their kids (Zach & Sarah) and Christine. We were all missing Brianna (Christine's daughter) who was off to see her Dad up in North Bay. Good food... good laughs. Thanks everyone for coming over!!

The Beach at Fifty Point

We went to Fifty Point for a picnic supper and some swimming. I'm not sure how Marshall and the girls were even in the water - it was COLD!!! It's so nice to have so many beautiful spots to visit that are close to home.

Bruce Trail and Geocaching

Today we went for a hike along the Bruce Trail and while there, we took our girls on their very first real Geocaching treasure hunt. It was the perfect weather to be outside!! Here are a few pictures from our morning.

Paige, Marshall & Chloe (Getting ready for the hike)

Marshall and Chloe having a heart to heart.
Really the're talking about what snack to have.

Paige enjoying her snack.

The Family (bad angle!!)

Getting a little assistance at the edge of the trail.

Chloe following her sister. She did well for most of the hike!

Then it was time for a little rest on dad's shoulders.

Paige and Marshall found the treasure (Geocache). Paige is signing the cache's journal. I wonder if she is the youngest so far to find this one??

Great view along the trail!

At the end of our hike.

What an Adventure!!

We went to Port Dover for Friday the 13th. It was more fun than I could have imagined. I saw thousands and thousands of bikes, a ton o' leather and too much skin on one man.

Just a few pictures! (Tender eyes beware of picture #2!!)

Thong Man!!

Every where you looked there were bikes and people.

Our little bike.

Not much of a bike babe - but I had fun anyways!

I would love to buy a newer Triumph.

Andrea & Richard (Marshall's brother and wife)

The next Friday the 13th is next June and you bet we'll be going!!

1st Pregnancy Survey

Miranda Rix-Lee posted this in her "Notes" on facebook. I thought it was fun!

Here you go mommies - a different kind of survey for a change - it's all about your first born! Just copy and paste it in a new note for yourself! Let's see how much you remember!
  1. WAS YOUR FIRST PREGNANCY PLANNED? No and Yes. The 1st pregnancy was a surprise (honeymoon) but I lost that baby at 18 weeks. My first born child was totally planned! This is the one I will talk about for the rest of the survey.
  2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME? Yes
  3. WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? Nervous and Excited
  4. WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU? Never
  5. HOW OLD WERE YOU? I was 28
  6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? We were in New Brunswick, on vacation. I knew there was something different and all the way home on the train (21 hours) I kept saying to Marshall - I think I'm pregnant. I got home and right away took a test, it was negative but I was sure that it wasn't true. I went into my doctors and they did blood work. Sure enough - I WAS!
  7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? Marshall (my husband) and then Krista Hall-Jefferson and Cherie VanHoffen-Martin
  8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX? Yes
  9. DUE DATE? April 24, 2003
  10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS? Not really. Just felt a little ill if I was hungry or if I ate too much.
  11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE? Strawberries and Pineapples
  12. WHO/WHAT IRRITATED YOU THE MOST? Around 5 months into the pregnancy, I tore a muscle in my stomach. After that I could move in a really simple way and experience great discomfort.
  13. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHILD'S SEX? Girl
  14. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING? I guess in a way. My husband has a small family and would have loved to have had a son to pass on the name.
  15. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY? 16 lbs
  16. DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER? Yes
  17. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW? No and thanks to Susan Brenton-Kelly who opened her house!
  18. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY? I was put on progesterone to help with the early stages of pregnancy and my cervix was stitched. I had previously had 3 miscarriages and was willing to go through anything to have this baby.
  19. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH? Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, ON
  20. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR? I noticed what seemed like mild contractions around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon (while Margie Goodyear was trying to get things going), they got a little more serious around 6:00, I went to the hospital at 7:00 and she was born at 1:06 Wednesday morning. 7-10 hours.
  21. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL? My husband Marshall
  22. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH? Marshall, Nurse Paula and Dr. Psarakis
  23. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION? Natural
  24. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN? Sort of... They gave me too much epidural and I was having problems breathing. They turned the drip off to contact the Dr. and then it was too late by the time the epidural set in - I had a baby girl in my arms.
  25. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH? 6lbs 3oz
  26. WHEN WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN? April 24th, 2003 (on her due date)
  27. WHAT DID YOU NAME HIM/HER? Paige Elizabeth Bucek
  28. HOW OLD IS YOUR FIRST? She is now 4 years old

Anyone want a GPS?

I bought a GPS system for Marshall for an Anniversary present and then realized that I bought the wrong one. Marshall's brother said it was a good system but I would rather get Marshall the one he wants. Now we have two! I could ship it back but thought that maybe someone else out there may want one.

This is great for recreational driving, fishing, boating, or MARSHALL'S favourite reason geocaching!

This is a recreation GPS system by Garmin.

* I've posted it for sale on Kijiji:

** Here's the Garmin website with their info.

I paid $149.99 + shipping + tax. I am willing to take $160.00

If you are interested - let me know right away!!!

Well....

I'm going back to work. I start next Monday (June 4th) and then work every Monday and Thursday. I hope to get some family and friends to help for a bit so that I can work out the whole cost of daycare vs. net income. That is not why I am going back to work but having a little extra money at the end of the day could help!

Our Weekend Away

Marshall & I celebrated our 10 Year Wedding Anniversary in Toronto this past weekend. It was a great time to just get away, just the two of us.

Here are some pictures and when I'm not gushing over my girls (which may take days) I hope to write more.

A New Mother's Day Tradition

Well... I've been trying to heal my relationships with my sisters and we've ran into a few bumps and bruises the last couple of weeks but a definite high was our Mother's Day - Day out!

Today we went to Jack Astor's for lunch and then off to Dundurn Castle for a tour. It was a great time out with my mom and my sisters. I'm hoping we can do these little get togethers more often.

I'm not sure why I look so tall (other than the heels - really even in heels I'm the shortest). In the picture from L-R: Me, my mom Pat, my twin sister Christine and older sister Jennifer.
